Powder coating (Komaxit application)

Powder coating (Komaxit) is suitable for gates, sports equipment, furniture, fences, and various other metal (steel and aluminum) items that naturally experience wear and tear, not to mention the unpleasant effects of corrosion (especially in humid environments). This process involves applying a colored layer that effectively protects tools, appliances, and utility items from damage. It also extends their lifespan and shields them from scratches. Powder coating is a cutting-edge technology where powdered plastic is sprayed in an electrostatic field.

Powder coating using Komaxit is also referred to as Komaxit application. Komaxit is a type of coating applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between Komaxit – a powder coating – and conventional liquid paints is that no solvents are required for its application. This makes Komaxit the most environmentally friendly method of metal surface treatment.

The process of powder coating (Komaxit application) begins with cleaning and drying the object’s surface. The surface must be free of grease and other impurities. Then, a special powder paint is sprayed onto the object in an electrostatic field. Why? Because electrically charged powder melts and adheres to the surface, forming a protective colored layer. This layer is exceptionally durable, strong, stable, and retains its color for many years.

What is Komaxit?

Komaxit refers to a type of powder coating applied to metal surfaces. Powder coating with Komaxit is considered the most environmentally friendly method of metal surface treatment. Thanks to Komaxit, metal surfaces are colorfast and resistant to abrasion and external weather conditions.

What three factors influence the final quality of powder coating?

The quality of powder coatings in powder coating is primarily influenced by three factors: surface pre-treatment, the choice of the application system, and the method and quality of application. Powder coatings can be applied in a wide range of thicknesses, from very thin layers of approximately 25 μm to thicker layers of 60–120 μm for outdoor use.
We also emphasize that our powder coatings are durable and of exceptional quality. They are suitable for both outdoor and indoor use on various types of surfaces – smooth, coarse-textured, or fine-textured. Additionally, you can choose from multiple gloss levels (glossy, semi-gloss, or matte).
